The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 a Must Consider Camera

Panasonic has created a great micro four-thirds camera named the Lumix DMC-G2. The goal of this camera was to reduce the size of a DSLR without loosing any picture quality.  It appears that the G2 has acomplished this. One great feature the G2 has is its touch screen.  The G2 is the first in in its class to add this feature.

The three inch LCD is high resolution, and as stated before features a touch feature that allows you to select where to auto focus your camera. The screen also allows you to easily select ISO settings, and quickly changes settings on the fly. The G2 also offers a view finder for those days that are too sunny to use the LCD display.

The Lens that comes with the camera is the Lumix G Vario 14-42 mm lens.  This is about the equivalent to 28-84mm in a 35mm equivalent. This gives you a wide range of distances to play with. Because the lenses are interchangable you can purchase other lenses that are four-thirds compatible. The camera also boasts an optical image stabilizer that helps to reduce handshake distortions and blurriness that can occur. This camera becomes more ideal for low light pictures because of this also.

The G2 also takes 1280 X 720 HD videos. The camera has a dedicated button for video taking, which is great because you can almost immediately start filming instead of having to mess with settings on the camera first. Another great feature is the software they have added to try to cut down on wind noise. There are four different settings to help tone down this type of noise. Furthermore, you can also hook up an external microphone to it, which is an outstanding feature to this camera.
